CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION
Our 16th Annual Fall Conference on Issues in Women's Health is designed to enhance the knowledge of health care professionals involved in the care of women. A wide variety of topics will be presented in lectures and interactive discussion sessions.

Topics in this year's conference have been selected based on extensive needs assessment data in women's health, including clinical expert input and practice guidelines in women's health care, as well as suggestions from past participants of this program.

An outstanding faculty has been assembled for this conference and faculty members are committed to providing participants with current and practical information. Each member was selected based on their individual area of expertise and their outstanding ability to teach. This exciting conference will provide you with an opportunity to share current ideas with colleagues from across the country in a stimulating, relaxing and informal environment.

Three morning sessions and an afternoon of round-table discussions and one workshop session leaves ample time for relaxing, enjoying family and friends, and exploring Maui. We have arranged a variety of group tours for your enjoyment, as well as allowing for continued discussion relating to the conference topics.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this conference, you should be able to:

Examine, diagnose and treat several common orthopedic dilemmas

Diagnose and manage patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

Explain strategies for the management of common problems in office gynecology including incontinence, contraception, and female sexual dysfunction

Discuss current issues of concern in the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer

Better evaluate and treat sexually transmitted infections in the female patient

SMALL GROUP BREAKOUTS
Small group breakouts will be held Friday afternoon. These breakouts are organized to provide an opportunity for greater participant/ faculty interaction and to discuss subjects relating to your particular areas of interest. You are encouraged to bring cases or issues you are confronting in your clinical practice to discuss during these breakouts.

ACCREDITATION
This educational activity was planned and produced in accordance with the ACCME and ANCC essentials and standards relating to continuing medical and nursing education.

Symposia Medicus is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Symposia Medicus is accredited as a provider of continuing education for nurses by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
Physicians
Symposia Medicus designates this educational activity for a maximum of 18 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Application for Cognates has been filed with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).

Application for Prescribed CME credit has also been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).

Nurse Midwives / Physician Assistants
The American College of Nurse Midwives and the American Academy of Physician Assistants accept Category 1 CME approval from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Nurse Practitioners/Nurses
The ANCC contact hours awarded for the completion of this educational activity is 18. Provider is also approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # CEP2335, for 21.6 contact hours.

Pharmacology Credit for Prescriptive Authority
A maximum of 3.5 hours in pharmacology credit for prescriptive authority may be earned by attending this educational conference. Sessions awarding pharmacology credit for prescriptive authority are denoted with an Rx in the schedule.

Participants should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Certificates of completion/credit will be given to participants on-site at the conclusion of the conference.

Each registrant will receive an extensive conference syllabus containing pertinent information on each conference topic. GROUP TOURS
Tours are planned for participants and their guests throughout the conference breaks. Additional information regarding tours and miscellaneous hotel/location will be sent.
