CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION
Our 15th Annual Summer Conference on Obstetrics and Gynecology has been designed for physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and other health care professionals who face ever increasing challenges in the clinical diagnoses, treatment options, and new technologies involved in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The goal of this conference is to provide a comprehensive update and review on current issues and contemporary topics in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Emphasis will be placed on practical application of evidence-based topics. In addition to didactic lectures, ample time has been allotted for participant feedback and interaction.

Topics in this year's conference have been selected based on extensive target audience needs assessment data, clinical expert input, and Obstetrics and Gynecology practice guidelines.

An outstanding faculty has been assembled for this conference. Faculty are committed to providing participants with current and practical information and each member was selected based on their individual area of expertise and ability to communicate first-hand, practical information. This exciting conference will provide you with an opportunity to share current ideas with colleagues from across the country in a stimulating, relaxing and informal environment.

Morning sessions and one afternoon session leave ample time for exploring Whitefish, Montana. We have also arranged a variety of group tours that allow for enjoyment of the area as well as continued discussion relating to the conference topics.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this conference, you should be able to:

Outline strategies to reduce malpractice risk and improve patient safety

Discuss the impact of a standardized nomenclature on EFM interpretation

Cite current management issues related to abnormal Pap smears, vaginitis, and STD's including HPV, as well as high risk pregnancy conditions such as preeclampsia, hypertension & pulmonary embolism

Better assess and interview the victim of sexual assault

Formulate a plan to enhance skills toward a culturally competent clinical practice

This educational activity was planned and produced in accordance with the ACCME and ANCC essentials and standards relating to continuing medical and nursing education.

Symposia Medicus is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

Symposia Medicus is accredited as a provider of continuing education for nurses by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

Physicians
Symposia Medicus designates this educational activity for a maximum of 18 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Application has been made with the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) for Cognates, Formal Learning.

Certified Nurse Midwives & Physician Assistants
The American College of Nurse Midwives and the American Academy of Physician Assistants accept Category 1 CME approval from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

18 contact hours are awarded for the completion of this conference.

Nurses & Nurse Practitioners
The ANCC contact hours awarded for the completion of this educational activity is 18.

Provider is also approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP2335 for 21.6 contact hours.

Pharmocology Credit for Prescriptive Authority
A maximum of 1.25 hours in pharmacology credit for prescriptive authority may be earned by attending this educational conference. Sessions awarding pharmacology credit for prescriptive authority are denoted with an Rx.

Participants should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Certificates of Completion/ Credit will be given to participants at the conclusion of the conference.

ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION SESSIONS
Small group discussions will be held Friday afternoon. These "Round Table Discussion Sessions," are organized to provide an opportunity for greater participant/faculty interaction, and will give you an opportunity to discuss subjects relating to your particular area of interest. You are encouraged to bring cases or issues you are confronting in your clinical practice to discuss during these sessions.

Each registrant will receive an extensive conference syllabus containing pertinent information on each conference topic. Tours are planned for participants and their guests throughout the conference breaks. Additional information on Glacier National Park and the Whitefish-Flathead Lake Area, our conference hotel, airport shuttle service, and group tours will be sent to you.
